The Other Wave is an inclusive site dedicated to exploring film, television and media from a diverse perspective. We showcase work featuring and created by those who are underrepresented in popular culture.
“The Other Wave” represents a growing movement of creators who are pushing the boundaries of news and entertainment by drawing from their experiences as minorities. The stories they tell may be unfamiliar to some, but their themes are universal.
About Anita
I’m a film, TV and media fanatic who’s been lucky enough to parlay my obsession into a career.
Despite how often I lose myself in brilliant movies, television shows and pieces of journalism, though, I don’t often find myself in them. While it’s a trend that’s slowly reversing, we still have a long way to go. My hope is The Other Wave will fill that gap by adding essential voices to the conversation.
Thanks for joining me,
Anita Li, editor-in-chief of The Other Wave and cat lady extraordinaire
